Meet our New Tennis Staff






 

Angelo A. Rossetti

Director of Tennis, USPTA
Co-Founder/Rossetti Brothers Tennis, LLC & Rossetti Brothers Tennis Foundation
Angelo was previously the Assistant Head Tennis Professional at NHHR and became a USPTA certified teaching professional in 1992. He taught at Yale University and was the Head Pro and Director of Adult Programs at Milford Indoor Tennis. He has taught with ATP Tour professionals, including Tom Gullikson, Tim Mayotte, Johan Kriek, Mikael Pernfors, Luke & Murphy Jensen, Malavai Washington, James Blake and Monica Seles. As a top Division I player at the University of Connecticut, he earned a B.S. degree in Sports Marketing. He won the USTA New England Sportsmanship award in 2005. In 2007, he and his identical twin brother, Ettoré, were ranked #1 in New England Men’s Open Doubles and were awarded gold medallions at the International Tennis Hall of Fame. Angelo was also awarded the 2007 USPTA Regional Teaching Pro of the Year and 2007 Open Player of the Year with his brother. He and Ettoré set a Guinness World RecordTM - Longest Tennis Rally - with 25,944 strokes over 14 hours and 31 minutes.

Steve Rogers

Head Tennis Pro, USPTR
Steve started playing tennis while attending Mitchell College in New London, Conn., and reached the quarterfinals of the NJCAA National Tournament in his second year. After college, Steve played on the USTA/New England circuit achieving a career high ranking of #6 in Men’s Open Singles, #1 in Men’s Open Doubles, and #1 in Mixed Open Doubles. From 1998 through 2000, Steve taught at the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Bradenton, Florida, where he had the privilege of working with young stars like Maria Sharapova, Daniela Hantuchova, Jelena Jankovic, Tatiana Golovin and Paul-Henri Mathieu. While at NBTA, Steve was also a travel coach for ITF ranked juniors 16 and under. He has taught at multiple fantasy camps with Tom Gullikson in Connecticut and Las Vegas, Nevada. Steve currently is ranked #2 in Men’s 35 and over in New England and holds three certifications, USPTR, Spanish Federation Certification, and Pat Etcheberry Certification.

Scott Matthews

Tennis Pro
Scott began playing tennis on the varsity Cheshire High School team. During that time he was co-captian and All-State for three years. Scott spent seven years teaching as the Assistant Pro at Copper Valley, three years assisting Scott Wilson at North Haven Health and Racquet, and three years as assistant coach for Cheshire High School Boys’ Tennis. He also taught at Rocky Hill Tennis Club and Healthworks. Scott was high school New England doubles champion and was a semi-finalist for two years.
